New Blog

Because I'm some-what sentimental...  I didn't have the heart to delete this guy.  But there IS a new blog, and I want you to come check it out.  It will have new, better content, a fresh new design, better gas mileage, etc.

Thanks so much for taking an interest in my photography!  I'm going to be changing most of the navigation links to link to the new site, as well.

So - what are you waiting for?  The new blog can be found here.

Shwabacker's Landing | Grand Teton National Park | Coussens + Sniders Family Portrait Session

Both Ben and Emily's families were in town here within the last month or so, and while not all of them were able to stay quite as long, it's been a privilege to get to know them nonetheless.  Emily had contacted me regarding doing a family photo session during the time both families would be present - and I think it's safe to say we all had a blast.

I even stepped through a rotten tree stump and fell to my doom!

(I wish someone would have recorded that - I think I've been laughing to myself about that fall for a few weeks, now).

Enjoy!

The Coussens and the Sniders | Portraits | Teton National Park | Schwabacher's Landing

Just a quick preview of a quick fam bam sessions we did over in the national park.  Keep an eye out for these.  It really shows when people are comfortable, excited, and want their photographs to really endure.

Needless to say, I had a great time shooting this one.

Margaret Mary 'Meg' Vanderbie | Senior Portraits

It was great getting to know Meg, her heart, and her plans for the near future during this session.  In fact, one of the joys I've found of photography is the way that the day itself really opens itself up to a lot of conversation, and even though Meg is planning on going to a school with a not so good soccer team, I'm still excited for her.

Get after it, kiddo.

Armand De La Torre | Senior Portraits

Armand and I go back a little ways - although I'll admit, it had a been a little while ( a few years ) since I'd really seen him last before this shoot, outside of speaking engagements.  His mother and I go back a ways, too - I'd say back to some very pivotal years of my life.  When they approached me about doing Armand's senior portraits, I couldn't have been more excited.

That kid sure has grown up from the old youth ministry and ultimate frisbee days.
Go get 'em - fight the good fight.

emily and andrew sartain | wedding | burbank, CA

A lot of work goes into a wedding - and rightfully so, as it ought to be a very joyous time as family and friends come together to celebrate and commemorate the union of two lives.  Why do a thing like that half-heartedly?  Marriage isn't simply a social contract; it's a big deal.
That said, a lot of the joy of being able to shoot a wedding from start to finish is being a part of how everything begins coming together, and how all of those loose ends and fine details eventually translate into images that really tell the story of a wedding day.

Andrew and Emily's wedding was no exception - I had a blast getting to know family and friends throughout the day and being a part of how everything came together to form a very beautiful wedding ceremony.

This is a big post, but it's my first real-deal post since I started this new site.  Enjoy - congrats!
